The same year Ota Rei arrived in the Kanto region, she joined her senior Nakajima Saori in the athletic track & field associations to ensure she kept her physical fitness in prime condition. Unlike her senior, Rei never found the competitive aspect particularly enthralling, but it was the most obvious way to keep up with the "military readiness" of the Shock Armies.
