"....per the agreed-upon pre-mission inhouse psychiatric analysis, there was nothing to contradict the behavioral information in the dossier supplied by the Royal Lunari Embassy (Tokyo, JPN) on their subject. Rei Ota (real name unavailable) gave all indications of being a well-adjusted, psychologically stable young woman of an even temperament and mature manner relative to her assume age. Compared to the same analysis conducted on the previous mission candidate, Saori Nakajima, Ota was more reserved in her behavior, modest, and appeared much less arrogant. This behavior continued into the first days of in-mission training..."
"...as with the previous contract with Nakajima, Ota was not to be maimed or killed, but a 'moderate' level of physical harm was permissible. No small arms or explosives training or use was allowed. Ota was fully cognizant of the training terms, presumably being briefed by embassy staff or her other countrymen...."
"...considered 'serious harm' to these (so-called) Lunari is not clear to us. Nakajima claimed to be able to regrow any of her adult teeth. We've known from reliable sources they could shrug off physical blows that would normally incapacitate or kill, and have an almost unhuman tolerance for pain. Ota made claims roughly comparable to her countrywoman before her; she remained polite and courteous through the initial training, even the hardship endurance. Her attitude did not seem to change until sometime after certain uncouth remarks made by the team in jest, and even after that did not seem particularly bothered. However, a turn seemed to occur near the training half-point, when she made boasts in response to bragging about past battlefield experience, which in turn triggered an immediate response from our men. In retrospect, it's likely she intended to goad team members into more arrogant behavior, before she responded in kind..."
"....precaution, all team members were thoroughly drilled in acceptable limits of behavior, even if the employer made no further demands in this area. The same was done with Nakajima, whom research revealed had been a moderately successful magazine model in Japan, and was considered even more problematically sexually attractive..."
"....start of violence. With Nakajima, we assumed the handful of light to moderate injuries inflicted on our personnel were probably exaggerated, and two participants of that contract were team members here. Three others flatly refused. There is no denying the injuries inflicted by Ota were at least as serious, and probably much more so, and probably reflected foreign, unfamiliar military training in kind."
"....no point were firearms considered necessary. Ota herself said she would never charge an armed combatant while unarmed. But if she had obtained such a weapon, she might have seriously threatened...."
