During the upload, there used to be checkboxes next to suggested tags, so they could easily be applied. I can't see these checkboxes anymore, is this a bug?

I think and I could be wrong, the site coder removed the ability for people under gold to use suggested tags. The reason being people improperly tag their posts because they only look at the suggested tags and apply them even if it doesn't fit the actual post. The goal is to get people to understand how to tag their own posts properly, but the suggested tags still show up to show users what kind of tags they could use.

These are AI tags and they have now been restricted to Gold+ because of repeated abuse of those tags (eg people basically ticking off everything without bothering to double-check the image to see if those tags are actually relevant for the image in question), if you're just a member, I would suggest just learning what tags to use (hint: check the wiki) and what tags are out there to apply to your image.

You've already got answers but what they forgot to mention is theres wiki pages to help users out with tagging.
How to tag
Tag Groups (probably more helpful for you)
Tag Checklist
I am disappointed in this change. This makes it much harder on me to tag, have a hard time typing everything out opposed to just checking the boxes.
What is the requirement to get to gold level? I feel like I am going to be stuck at base level because of poor upload choices early on before I got the hang of stable diffusion. Any way I can wipe out my oldest unapproved images?

All users should initially learn how to tag manually too. This way they learn to not rely solely on Suggested Tags and avoid learn bad habits such as applying two different breast sizes or two different colors without it being a case of 2 characters or asymmetry. Suggested Tags was always meant to be a tool, not the main way. Similar to Tag Script, it makes sense to give more powerful tools to those who know the basics. I highly doubt many users who solely use Suggested Tags even had the thought to check the tag Wikis or others' posts to how the tags are actually used.

You can check the requirements at the bottom of help:users page. That said, the amount of unapproved posts don't affect the lower levels, only when a promotion to Contributor or Approver is considered. Even then, the most recent uploads are more important than the older posts.

Besides what I said above, you can edit some minor errors out and ask for a post replacement at topic #172, that way you have a higher chance on an older post getting approved.

Understood. Thank you for the link, that clarifies things. So it looks like it is a manual process to get membership increased. Any chance you can take a look at my recent work to give me any feedback for what I should do to get gold level?

You're already on your way to Gold so you can expect a promotion quite soon TBH so you can just keep doing what you've been doing already.

Make the functionality a little different, otherwise ordinary users will practically not add tags at all (or they will be minimal).
For example, make it possible for regular users to check the first ten to twenty tags (they still have a huge overlap).
Thanks for understanding!

And another request - add a display of inactive checkboxes for users to see which tags matched the tags made by AI. Because now it’s not convenient and it’s not clear which tags match (unless you search using CTRL+F).
Thank you!

In general, I still don’t see the point of this innovation with limiting checkboxes by user level.
Because everyone who generates images knows about DeepDanbooru and other similar systems (because they are built into Automatic1111 and other systems), which creates a list of tags for the image. They will simply copy the list of tags from there. Not to mention those users who know JavaScript and can create a script in a minute that will extract tags from the image upload page (or even return checkmarks).
Users who don't want to make quality tags will still abuse this and set incorrect tags. And by limiting this functionality for all users at the “member” level, you are depriving honest users of convenience.
You probably see right now that this solution will help you, but it only works in the short term. It’s better to either return the checkboxes or make at least 10-20 tags available for selection.
Thanks again! =)

If it makes you feel any better, there's no high bar to getting gold on AIbooru. In your case, maybe a few more uploads or something.
Yeah, hah, but at the same time I will never get Gold status, since on this site moderators and approvers extremely rarely accept furry content and content on certain topics (like mine on the topic of the Sonic world). I will simply always have a bad rating due to the rare approval of my posts, no matter how well I tag. =(

here's a tip. You can ask for feedback about uploads, if you know how to do it you can fix errors in posts and replace said post and appeal it. Usually posts are not approved because there is some quality or otherwise issue in them. While fixing and replacing posts are not easy but it is possible. Or you can simply ask for feedback before uploading future posts, this will greatly increase the chance your posts will get approved. (it's best to join the site discord or use the upload feedback thread on here).

The limitation was added because most of the users that abuse suggested tags are new users that think because the AI "suggests" something as a tag, it must actually apply so they check off every box without consideration as to whether what they're adding even makes sense.
If it wasn't such a frequent problem then I wouldn't have cared to have it continue be the way it originally was. I'm no fan of seeing a feature be restricted like this, but I supported it because it was too much headache. Generally, if a user is considered reasonable enough to be allowed access to the tag script mode they should be reasonable enough to be allowed suggested tags.
Your point about people still being able to do this is true, but suggested tags made it easier and quicker to do for some people.

Gold promotions aren't strict. It's just something you get for doing stuff. It's not like a Builder or Contributor promotion that have different requirements. The type of content doesn't factor in (unless it's rule-breaking, in which possibly missing a promotion would be the least of the worry) and people that have a lot of deleted uploads still get promoted to gold just for being active, I guess.

That's an excuse and this is evil.
I was gonna report this bug but it turns out it's not a mistake, it's bad faith.

Since apparently you can't wrap your mind around it being good faith, let me actually prove something to you. I want you to look at just a random general tag, how many posts actually belong under said tag? As of the time of posting, I already have a good few examples:
https://aibooru.online/posts?tags=solo+fox_ears+wolf_ears&z=5
https://aibooru.online/posts?tags=solo+cat_ears+fox_ears&z=5
https://aibooru.online/posts?tags=solo+sitting+standing&z=5
https://aibooru.online/posts?tags=solo+wading+partially_submerged+&z=5
No doubt all of these were caused by AI tags being the problem and people not knowing how to actually tag. Tag what you see, not what the suggested tags tell you. Please look at the wiki if you want info on different tags to use.

Very well. If you are acting in good faith then, surely you have no problem in seeing I could get gold, because I actually care about tagging correctly.
This feature set Aibooru apart from Danbooru in convenience and now it's been turned into virtually useless... at least at blue level.
If anyone in here with power has any decency, surely they can listen to me.

Well I didn't do it, that's was done by the site admins.
The point is to get people to properly tag their posts, while no one is perfect a lot of users simply apply all the suggestion tags and don't bother to check if these tags actually apply to the post itself. Removing this option forces users to really look at what tags are necessary, you also don't need to tag a whole lot just the follow the guidelines for the type of tags that are required.

there's always a trade off with this kind of thing, on the one hand suggested tags are insanely useful, on the other hand people have and are abusing this feature and missing tags that should be added or adding tags they shouldn't be added.
