The style is beautiful! I always have trouble getting that painted style look, just seems to give out weird artifacting, or just looking not painterly at all.

Oh yeah agreed, flat simple styles are so much easier to deal with hahaha. Styles like this for me often have to be cleaned up/fixed in some way (often the eyes) but they also look really interesting.
