yari
This tag is used for Japanese spears after the mid-Kamakura period.
For 槍 used as a more broad term, see spear.
Ancient Japanese spear-like polearms called 矛, 鉾 (hoko) or 鉾槍 (hoko yari) are simply tagged as spear.
A yari is a long, straight-bladed spear commonly used by samurai and other warriors in Japan.
There are two variants of yari; a one-bladed variant for foot soldier, and juumonji yari, a three-bladed variant (similar to partisan) for cavalry.
