Abbreviation for Newtype Drive, but also regarded as Newtype Destroyer (due to Full Frontal quoting it as such), it is the fully-activated mode of the Unicorn Gundam.
When in use, the Unicorn Gundam's armor slides open, revealing its glowing red Psycho Frame, then its single horn at its head splits into the well-known V shaped crest. It activates when there is an entity that is regarded as Newtype by the system, or when the pilot's Newtype power grows, activated at will. In this mode, the Unicorn Gundam's performance increases drastically and gains the ability to hijack an enemy's funnels or bits if there are any.
The psycho frame can also be depicted as grey (deactivated), gold (on the Unicorn Gundam Banshee), blue (on the Unicorn Gundam Phenex and Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility) or green (if the pilot's Newtype abilities is fully awakened).
The green NT-D features new abilities such as replicating the Axis Shock, previously done by the Nu Gundam, and the ability to remotely manipulate weapons equipped with psycho frame, even if said weapon has no thrusters (in this case, the Shield Funnels equipped onto the Unicorn Gundam and Unicorn Gundam Phenex).
