i-168 (kancolle)
伊168 伊168(艦隊これくしょん) 伊168(艦これ) いむや
The personification of the Japanese submarine I-168 in Kantai Collection.
Character design by Syobonne, voiced by Nakajima Megumi.
I-168 and I-58 share the same costume, consisting of a white and blue serafuku top with pink scarf over a classic blue school swimsuit. I-168 herself has long red or pink hair, in a ponytail with a hair ribbon on a strand on her right side.
Her nickname is "Imuya" (168 in goroawase). Was shown using a smartphone in the official 4koma.
History
Originally laid down as I-68 before later renamed to I-168 a month before the Battle of Midway. She is best known for sinking the crippled aircraft carrier USS Yorktown and the destroyer USS Hammann during the Midway campaign, both were the only American ship to be lost that day.
She was sunk by a submarine USS Scamp on 27 July 1943 after a solo torpedo duel.
