drum magazine

A type of cylindrical-shaped weapon magazine which stores ammunition in a spiral layout (bullets aligned with the barrel), typically resulting in much greater capacity as compared to standard box/stick magazines. Usually associated with automatic firearms such as the iconic Thompson submachine gun and PPSh-41.
