Aladdin is a 1992 animated film produced by Disney, based on the Arab folktale Aladdin and the Magic Lamp from One Thousand and One Nights. The film's success led to a franchise that included two direct-to-video sequel films, a TV series, various video games (with Virgin Games' Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game and Capcom's Super Nintendo game both garnering praise among gamers), a few theme park attractions, and a Broadway musical.
