Seisenshi Dunbine (Sacred Warrior Dunbine), also known as Aura Battler Dunbine, is a mecha anime television series created by Tomino Yoshiyuki and produced by Sunrise Studios in 1983. It also had mecha designs by Miyatake Kazutaka.
The series is notable because it was one of the first anime mecha shows that combined medieval fantasy with science fiction super robot and real robot concepts.
The series would later inspire several OVAs, listed below
- Seisenshi Dunbine: New Story of Aura Battler Dunbine - a sequel set in the distant future of the original series' world.
- Rean no Tsubasa - a standalone ONA set in a separate continuity, but featuring similar setting elements. This ONA is an adaptation of Tomino's 80s novel series of the same name, which itself is an alternate Byston Well story to Dunbine.
- Byston Well Monogatari: Garzey no Tsubasa - a 3-episode non-mecha fantasy OVA released in 1996, notorious for it's comically bad English dub. Also known as Garzey's Wing.
