French: Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne "Assault Rifle of the Weapon Factory of Saint-Étienne"
The FAMAS is a French 5.56×45mm NATO bullpup assault rifle, developed between 1967–1971 by Paul Tellie.
Its notable features are a long carrying handle and an ambidextrous charging handle underneath it, resembling one found on the early AR-10 model. Its nickname is le Clairon (the Bugle). The FAMAS G2 variant has a larger trigger guard compared to the F1.
