A stance in which a swordfighter is preparing to unsheathe their blade as the first step of an upward slicing attack. The drawing hand may be on the hilt of the sword or waiting slightly apart from it while the other hand holds the saya at an angle suitable for the draw.
Battoujutsu's fast draw is a signature technique of Himura Kenshin.
Also use sheathed cut when an actual cutting is taking place.
