Edit
The personification of the battlecruiser Amagi (Akagi's sister ship) in Azur Lane, introduced as part of the Crimson Echoes event.
Character design by Liduke, voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki.
In-game, Amagi is portrayed as a fox girl much like Akagi, with long brown hair and purple eyes with red pupils. Her outfit consists of a red and dark purple/black kimono and an oil-paper umbrella in her hand in addition to her rigging. Amagi is a much more level-headed person than Akagi, behaving in a professional manner and being respectful towards the Commander. However, she suffers from coughing fits, a likely reference to how her keel snapped during her conversion to a carrier in an earthquake and is highly conscious of her own frail health (which is manifested in the Azur Lane story as a Wisdom Cube with a crack on it).
History
The historical Amagi was supposed to be the first in a four-ship class of battlecruisers, developed as part of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Eight-Eight Fleet Program. However, construction was halted as a result of the Washington Naval Treaty, before she and Akagi underwent conversion into aircraft carriers. Amagi's conversion, however, was cut short when her keel snapped during the Great Kanto Earthquake, forcing her to be scrapped like her other two sister ships two years later.
