Created by Sugita Tomokazu, Automatic Game Revolution System (pronounced A-JI-RU-SU) originally appeared in 2010 on Anigera as its mascot and as Sugita's own toy. She originally spoke through the use of pre-recorded voices, and sometimes a male AGRS appeared too. Most illustrations from this period were drawn by Anigera fans imagining their own image of AGRS. Whilst Umino Chika would illustrate her in 2010 for the radio show, by 2015, a proper official image of AGRS began to develop, as she appeared in card form in Battle Spirits.
Later on, Sugita began voicing and embodying AGRS. In late 2018, in collaboration with Magatsu Wahrheit and Dennou Shoujo Siro, he would both cosplay as AGRS at an official event, and use her as his avatar in virtual reality, appearing live alongside Siro.
Finally, in April of 2020, Sugita departed from Atomic Monkey to establish the independent company AGRS, which among other things, will feature character management, such as AGRS herself. Sugita would post on April 15th his first semi-VTuber video as AGRS, finalizing her design for her quasi-VTuber incarnation.
