How to delete an unpublished upload

Posted under General

Greetings,

I have uploaded some undesired pictures and I want to clean up the "My Uploads" page.

I know you can flag a published post for deletion. But I don't find how to delete an unpublished post. Any help would be appreciated.

Unpublished uploads are "media assets" and only admins can delete them. Usually they're only deleted if they're particularly bad/rule-breaking, but you could try to request @Talulah or @fredgido delete them by messaging them the link(s) of whatever media assets you're wanting deleted.

Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it because there are quite a lot of off-topic/junk images in that area like this, this, or this (among many others I could spend all day linking to) for example.

Thanks for the answer. It's not that the pictures are off-topic or junk, but I saw they were flaws in them after uploading, and I wanted to clean-up my "mess". If there is some kind of feature suggestion among mods / admin, maybe put a self deletion of unpublished pics in there ;)

Thanks for your time though.

Oh, I wasn't trying to imply that your uploads were "junk," I was merely just saying that having unposted media assets isn't really an issue because there's a lot of them (some of which are junk like the ones I linked.) No one really gets in trouble for that type of stuff, unless they're trying to use the site like a personal image host or something.

I mean, I wouldn't mind it personally, but there's a reason only admins can delete media assets so I doubt that would be made a thing.

Anyway, no problem.
